Intel Mac でSolaris を動かすための補足情報
これまで Intel Mac でSolaris を動かすための方法などについて紹介してきましたが、これまでに紹介しきれなかった情報や新たに見つけた情報などを補足しておきます．
GPT パーティション形式での Solaris のインストールについて
Paul Mitchell さんが GPT パーティション形式での Solaris のインストールについて記事を書いています．この記事によると、GPT 形式でSolaris のインストーラのディスクパーティションツールがパーティション構造を誤認識するのは、先頭の “EFI System Partition” の存在が気に入らない（上手く無視できない）ようです． “EFI System Partition” を強制的に他の形式（HFS＋）などにすれば、上手く扱える可能性があるとのことでした．また、Solaris インストーラーの fdisk 関連の問題（バグ）についても、もう少し詳しく書かれています．

Solaris が ZFSファイルシステムからブート可能らしい
Leopard で 新しいファイルシステムである ZFS がサポートされる予定（現在は読み込みのみ）ですが、ZFS御本家のSunでは既に Open Solaris でZFS ファイルシステムからブート可能だそうです ．

あのへっぽこインストーラがZFSに対応できるかどうかは微妙ですが、ZFS ファイルシステムという新たな選択肢が増えると、 OS X と Solaris の共存が上手く行きそうですね．Appleがデベロッパーに配布している ZFS V1.1 はまだ開発途上で、Finder がまともに対応できていませんがコマンドラインからは何とか使えそうです．近いうちに ZFS での Solaris の稼働にも挑戦してみる予定です．
Intel Mac のハードウェアサポート状況について
前の記事で、Solaris のコマンドを使ってデバイス関係の情報を探るというちょっと泥臭い方法を紹介しましたが、そんな面倒な事をしなくてももっと簡単に調べられる方法がありました．Sun のサポートページにインストールチェックツール が用意されていました．このツールをダウンロードして CD-ROM に焼いて下さい．このCD-ROM を起動すると Solaris が立ち上がって、インストールチェックツールが詳細な報告を行ってくれます．結果は画面に表示されるだけではなく、USBメモリにも出力してくれるので、とても便利です．結構面白い情報が得られます．
トラックパッドが対応していないので、MacBook での Solaris の使用はちょっと無理がありますね．
参考までに、手持ちのIntel Mac [ MacBook 1,1 : 初代、iMac 17inch : 初代、 Mac mini (Intel) : 初代 ] の結果を載せておきます．
